Join HSO for the finale of the 2019 season with music that bursts with colour from all corners of the globe. Guest Artist Hoang Pham returns to HSO for a third year, performing de Falla’s evocative Nights in the Gardens of Spain. Originally a set of nocturnes, these exotic impressions take listeners through lush gardens on balmy Spanish nights. In another world, Gottschalk’s Grande Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra overflows with the dance and energy of the composer’s hometown of New Orleans. Often regarded as the father of American music, Stephen Foster’s enduring songs including Camptown Races, Swanee River and Oh Susanna undergo a symphonic transformation by Morton Gould in Foster Gallery.
