Biography

Isaac Winter is currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music (Monash University). He grew up surrounded by music and began his musical journey at a young age playing piano before picking up the cello at age 10. He was a natural and moved quickly through the repertoire, going on to complete his Grade 8 exam aged 15. He attended various music camps and student ensembles as a young cellist, solidifying his understanding of orchestral playing. More recently Isaac has performed as a semi-professional/amateur pit musician with CPP Community Theatre’s production of “Beauty & The Beast” and Waverley Christian College’s production of “Mary Poppins”. He performed as a featured soloist alongside several accomplished musicians in Nathan Glenn’s (Melbourne based composer) concert ‘Fervent’ and the studio album release of the same name. As a multi-talented musician, he has also had the opportunity to compose soundtracks to two short films by Samuel Purser, both of which can be found on all major music streaming platforms. Isaac has an excellent rapport with kids of all ages and loves working with his young students to reach their musical goals. He is the cello teacher at two private schools, he continues to play for various functions and ensembles while studying and working part-time.
